Happy Tears

Yesterday, Arielle and I were cuddling on the couch and she turned to me with a big grin on her face and said, "I have happy tears!" Then she said, "Why do I have happy tears?" to which I replied that her eyes were watery and that is why she had tears {I think she has some springtime allergies}. The point of this story is that I couldn't think of any time that I had ever mentioned happy tears to her, so how did she know what to call them? From her perspective she was happy to be spending some quality time with her mommy and it just so happened that tears were coming out of her eyes, so they must have been happy tears? The perspective of pre-schoolers never ceases to amaze me.

Kids are so sweet. They're so honest and it probably made perfect sense to her that they were happy tears because she wasn't sad. So sweet!!!

Much love from NJ,

The flower girl in my wedding was 5. The day of the wedding she told me she was going to cry when I got married. I immediately thought she was getting nervous/scared and she said "Don't worry! They will be happy tears! I will cry b/c I am so happy for you!" Talk about making ME tear up! Kids that age crack me up :)
